Everything’s Bigger and Better In Texas 

Here’s to Dallas, the Lone Star State’s bustling metropolis up north. There’s a lot to love about Dallas. The cooking. The culture. The cowboys. If you’re lucky enough to call the 214 your hometown, you know how proud this city can be. From tailgates to victory parades, Dallas is a true sports city. 

City of Sports Dreams 

There’s never a dull moment in Dallas when it comes to athletics. The city is home to six major sports teams, including the Cowboys, the Mavericks, the Rangers, the Stars, and its very own soccer club. 

Some of those teams have been lucky enough to hold championship trophies over the years, and Dallas fans won’t let you forget it. Between the six professional teams, there are seven championship rings. Most recently, the Mavs in 2011.

No matter what the season, win or lose, this city goes hard for its athletes. There’s a reason they call the Cowboys America’s team, and it’s not just about the cheerleaders. The energy for sports is electric here.

Everything really is bigger in Texas, and the Dallas/Fort Worth area is packed with incredible stadiums. AT&T stadium, home of the Cowboys, can seat over 130,000 fans. 

The Rangers just got a brand-spanking-new field with a retractable roof that sets a new standard on baseball stadiums. The Mavs and the Stars share the American Airlines Center, which means the arena in Victory Park is regularly packed with devoted Dallas fans.

The point is, from the many arenas and stadiums to the rowdy sports bar scene in DFW, you can’t ask for much more from a city as a sports fan. 

Real Dallasites Know 

A few sports teams have rolled through Dallas, Fort Worth, like tumbleweeds in an old country-western, and if you grew up in the area, you might fondly remember the good ole days. Who could forget the financially troubled but passionate Dallas Stallions, the professional roller hockey team? Or the Dallas Freeze, icons of minor league hockey in the 90s? At the very least, you’ve gotta remember the Fort Worth Texans, kings of the Will Rogers Coliseum, who tore up the ice for twenty years, starting in the 60s.
