In 1893, Whalom Park was founded in Lunenburg, MA to be a more traditional park with walking paths and trails around Lake Whalom. Over time it became a much larger business with more updated theme park attractions. The park stayed open for over a century, and was the thirteenth oldest amusement park in the United States on its last day of operations in 2000. The largest rides stayed standing for several years after closure, but were eventually demolished in 2006 to make way for a condo development.
