Atlanta Stadium, as it was originally named, was built in Atlanta, GA in 1965. The venue would be a multi-purpose stadium and play home to both of the city's professional sports teams at the time: the Falcons and Braves. The stadium changed its name to Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium in 1976, but most referred to it as simply Fulton County Stadium. In 1992, the Georgia Dome was completed and the Falcons moved in immediately, followed by the Braves moving to the new Turner Field five years later. Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium was then demolished in August of 1997.
