The Gladiators were one of the original Arena Football League teams when the league was created in 1987. Based out of Pittsburgh, PA, the team would play home games at Pittsburgh Civic Arena and actually played in and lost both Arena Bowls I and III. The Gladiators would cease operations after their third season.
