After the Mets played their inaugural season at Polo Grounds, they found their new home in Queens at Shea Stadium and would remain there for 40 years. It also served as the home stadium for the Jets for 20 seasons. In 1975, Shea Stadium earned the recognition as having been the only home stadium for two MLB and NFL teams at the same time; the Jets, Giants, Mets, and Yankees.
