What happens when you get a stadium full of Clevelanders for a baseball game promotion where beer is only $0.10 a pint? Oh and did we mention the Indians are playing the Rangers, who just had a bench clearing brawl in their last game together just 6 days ago? The infamous Ten Cent Beer Night at Cleveland Stadium on June 4th, 1974 went exactly as you might expect. The rangers took an early 5-1 lead, resulting in the first several actions by unruly fans including a streaker, chants, flashing, and mooning from home fans. Once Cleveland tied the game another fan stormed the field attempting to steal a Rangers outfielder's cap, resulting in the Rangers bench clearing with bats in hand, following by a full blown riot and the stadium charging the field. The game ended in a forfeit and 9 arrested fans.
