Palace Amusements Asbury Park Tillie Men/Unisex T-Shirt
In 1888, an indoor amusement park called Palace Amusements opened its doors right on the water in Asbury Park, NJ. The historic theme park featured attractions like ferris wheels, bumper cars, zoo animals, amongst other things as it expanded several times over the years. Eventually Palace Amusements would go out of business in 1988 after operating for a full century. The building went through several efforts to be salvaged and used for something else, but ended up having to be demolished in 2004 after the structure was deemed unsafe. However, the famous Tillie Mural and several other pieces of the park were able to be saved.
