It was one of the burlesque rooms on the strip that became Chicago's nightlife after repeal, when the clubs moved north and Rush Street filled up with revues, floor shows, and out-of-towners looking for exactly this. "When in Chicago," the sign said, and plenty of people took it at its word. Rush Street doesn't look like that anymore.
