The Salem Fairies were a minor league baseball team based in Salem, Massachusetts, that played during the late 19th century. Competing in the New England League in the 1880s, their whimsical name, "Fairies," reflected the era's tradition of imaginative team monikers, paying homage to the city's history of witchcraft.
